Why Use MiniMax H3 Max Recast
This tool works on footage you have already finished. The clip supplies the acting and the audio; the photos you upload supply the new cast.
- Casting swap, not a fresh generationWhatever the footage already does well — movement, framing, edit points, audio — is preserved. Only the identities on screen are exchanged.
- Four people, ordered left to rightEach portrait maps to one performer, and by default that mapping runs across the frame from the leftmost person to the rightmost. A brief prompt reassigns the pairs when the default is wrong.
- Your clip supplies the actingGaze, head turns, beats, expressions, on-set lighting and lens behaviour come from the source footage; faces and clothing come from your uploads, and the same performer is tracked through scene changes.
How to Use MiniMax H3 Max Recast
Three steps: bring a clip that is already right, add a portrait per performer, then preview at 768p and deliver at 1080p.
MiniMax H3 Max Recast Features
A casting tool rather than a generator: it protects the footage's motion, edits and sound, changes only the performers, and offers a 768p preview before the 1080p delivery.
Four-person casting with left-to-right order
Supply as many as four portraits and they take over the leading performers in each shot, matched left to right by default. A line like 'the woman on the right becomes person 1' reassigns the pairing.
Movement and expressions survive the swap
Gaze direction, head turns, comic timing, facial expression, on-set lighting and lens behaviour all come from the original take; only faces and wardrobe are drawn from your photos.
Edit points and audio stay in place
The cut pattern and the existing soundtrack are preserved, so the result slots straight into a finished edit instead of forcing a re-edit or a re-record.
Face-only swap when styling must hold
Left unprompted, the tool tends to borrow hair and clothing from the portrait, even a tightly cropped headshot. Asking it to change the face alone preserves the original styling — confirmed in our 23 October 2026 run.
Cheap preview, final render at 1080p
A quick 768p pass shows whether the casting reads correctly before you spend on 1080p. Runtime mirrors the source, so price tracks how long the clip is.
Tested on wildly different footage
Sample recasts include a music-video close-up, a barista commercial, a fencing bout, a skate launch and a fish market at dawn — each keeping its own motion, edits and sound.
MiniMax H3 Max Recast — FAQ
Common questions about MiniMax H3 Max Recast.
How is a recast different from generating a new video?
Generation invents footage. This tool works on footage you already have: performers are replaced by the people in your photos, while movement, camera work, edit points and audio remain from the original.
How long can my source video be?
Anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds, and no individual shot may exceed 15 seconds. Cut longer takes into pieces first. The finished recast runs exactly as long as the input.
How many people can I recast, and in what order?
As many as four, with one photo each. By default the portraits take over the leading performers from left to right across the frame; a prompt can reassign the pairing if the default is off.
What kind of reference photos work best?
Sharp, evenly lit, straight-on portraits, one per person. Skip sunglasses, hats, hands covering the face, group shots and low-resolution or heavily filtered images. If the original hair and wardrobe must stay, ask for a face-only replacement.
Should I use 768p or 1080p?
Preview at 768p to confirm the casting reads correctly, then render at 1080p for delivery. Pricing follows the length of the clip.
When should I not use it?
Not for new action, new camera work or a different location — the source dictates those. Results weaken with crowded scenes, tiny or distant faces, rapid movement and occlusion after hard cuts, and identity can slip back toward the original performer in wide shots or profile turns.
