Why Use Claude Animation

Claude animation is not a text-to-video model. It reshapes material you already own into a short Motion artifact you can revise piece by piece.

  • Content-to-Animation Conversion
Hand over a quarterly report, a pricing comparison or a set of setup steps and get back something short and animated: an all-hands explainer, a chart for a board deck, a walkthrough for onboarding.
  • Code-Built Motion Artifacts
Every animation is an artifact built from the Motion template. Claude writes code that moves the text, charts, shapes and images inside it, and the result plays back like a brief video.
  • Detail-Level Precision Editing
Since the animation is code, a single word, figure or timing tweak can be changed on its own while every other part of the piece holds exactly as it was.

How to Use Claude Animation

Three routes into a Motion artifact: ask inside any chat, begin from the Motion template, or brief it with files you already have.

Claude Animation Features

From conversational revisions to MP4 export and admin toggles, this is what Claude animation lets you do once a Motion artifact exists.

Revise by Asking in Chat

Request tweaks conversationally — slow the second scene down, or swap the Q3 figure for 18% — and Claude edits the animation you already have rather than starting over.

Hands-On Editor Adjustments

When you would rather have manual control, open the editor and reshape the animation yourself instead of describing the change to Claude.

MP4 Export

Hit Export, pick MP4, and the finished animation lands as a video file ready for decks, events or onboarding packs.

Private by Default, Share When Ready

A new animation is visible only to you; open one and choose Share to send it out, within whatever artifact sharing rules your organization has set.

Admin Enablement and Template Toggles

Owners flip Claude Motion on or off under Organization settings > Artifacts — enabled by default for Team, held off on Enterprise until switched on, and restrictable to chosen groups via custom roles.

Saved in the Artifacts Tab

Every animation lands in the Artifacts tab, so earlier explainers, charts and walkthroughs stay there to reopen, tweak or pass along later.

FAQ

Claude Animation — FAQ

Common questions about Claude animation: plan availability, editing, exports, usage limits and admin setup.

1

Which plans include Claude Animation?

Claude Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. Team plans have it on by default; Enterprise plans keep it off until an owner switches it on under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Does Claude Animation generate realistic video footage?

No — it never uses a video generation model, so realistic footage and people are out of scope. What it produces is code-driven animation of the text, charts, shapes and images in your material.

3

Can I change one detail without redoing the whole animation?

Yes. Because the animation is code, ask Claude in chat to alter a word, a figure or the timing — or make the change in the editor — and everything else holds as it was.

4

How do I download or share an animation?

Choose Export and pick MP4 to download it. By default an animation is private to you; click Share on an open animation to pass it on.

5

Does Claude Animation count toward usage limits?

It does, counted against your plan's usage limits just like any other work in Claude, and a longer or more intricate animation draws more of that allowance than a normal message.

6

What do admins need to turn on first?

Owners or Primary Owners first switch on Cloud code execution and file creation under Organization settings > Capabilities, then enable Artifacts and the Motion template under Organization settings > Artifacts. Switching a template off leaves artifacts already built with it untouched.
