Why Use Claude Motions

Claude Motions is a beta artifact template that reshapes material you already own into short animations that play back like video.

  • An Animation Built From the Motion Template
Each Claude Motions animation is an artifact generated from the Motion template, so it lives alongside your other Claude artifacts rather than inside a standalone editing app.
  • Code-Animated, Not Generated Footage
There is no video generation model behind Claude Motions, so you will not get lifelike footage or people; it animates the text, charts, shapes and images you supply.
  • Every Animation Saved in the Artifacts Tab
Anything you make with Claude Motions lands in the Artifacts tab, the place you return to when you want to reopen, revise or hand it to someone else.

How to Use Claude Motions

Three moves take you from a written brief to a shareable animation with Claude Motions.

Claude Motions Features

From briefing tips to scene-level tweaks, this is what Claude Motions puts in your hands when you animate your own material.

Prompt Tips: Audience, Venue and Runtime

Before Claude Motions starts, name the viewers, the screen or room the clip will play in, and the approximate running time you need.

Attach Your Own Reports, Data and Images

Upload the deck, spreadsheet or visuals you want featured, so the finished piece reflects your own material rather than invented content.

Scene-Level Changes by Asking Claude

Request tweaks in the conversation — ask for a slower second scene, or a corrected Q3 figure of 18%, and Claude Motions reworks that part.

Hands-On Adjustments in the Editor

Prefer to nudge elements yourself instead of describing them? Open the editor and reposition the Claude Motions animation by hand.

Surgical Edits That Leave the Rest Intact

Since the output is code, a single tweak — one word, one figure, one timing shift — leaves every other element exactly where it was.

Beta Availability and Organization Toggle

Claude Motions ships in beta for Team and Enterprise: switched on for Team from the start, while Enterprise owners must enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts and can scope it to chosen groups with custom roles.

Claude Motions FAQ

Claude Motions — FAQ

Quick answers about Claude Motions, its beta rollout, and how animations are exported and shared.

1

Which plans include Claude Motions?

It is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. Team workspaces have it switched on from day one; on Enterprise, an owner has to enable it first under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Can it produce realistic video or people?

No. Nothing here runs on a video generation model, so you get animated explainers, charts and walkthroughs assembled from your content instead of lifelike footage or humans.

3

Can I change one number or word without rebuilding?

Yes. The animation is code, so you can revise one word, one figure or one timing cue and every other element stays exactly as it was.

4

Where do my animations live?

Every Claude Motions animation is stored in the Artifacts tab, filed next to the other artifacts in your workspace.

5

How do I download or share an animation?

Choose Export, then MP4, to save a copy. New Claude Motions animations are private by default; open one and hit Share to grant access.

6

Does Claude Motions use up my plan limits?

It does. Claude Motions draws on your plan's usage allowance much like any other work, and longer or more involved animations consume more of it than a routine message.

Start Animating With Claude Motions

Open Claude, pick the Motion template or simply ask for an animation in chat. On Enterprise plans, an owner must switch Claude Motions on under Organization settings > Artifacts before the team can use it.
