Why Use claude motion design for Explainer Animation

claude motion design writes each animation as code from your prompt, so text, charts, shapes, and images move like a short video — and every detail stays editable.

  • Animations Built as Code
An animation is an artifact made from the Motion template, built from your prompt as code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images — no video generation model, so no realistic footage or people.
  • One Animation, One Saved Artifact
Everything you make is saved in the Artifacts tab, where Motion is simply one of the templates you can pick when you start a new artifact.
  • Change One Detail, Keep the Rest
Because the output is code, editing a single word, a number, or a piece of timing leaves every other element exactly as it was.

FAQ

claude motion design — FAQ

Common questions about claude motion design, from plan availability to MP4 export.

1

Which plans can use claude motion design?

Claude Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise plans. It is on by default on Team plans, and off by default on Enterprise plans until an owner turns it on in Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Does Claude Motion create realistic video or people?

No. There is no video generation model behind it, so realistic footage or people are out of scope — what moves on screen is the text, charts, shapes, and images from your own material, written as code.

3

Where do my animations live?

Every animation you create is saved in the Artifacts tab as an artifact made from the Motion template, alongside the rest of your artifacts.

4

Does Motion use up my plan limits?

Yes. Motion draws on your plan's usage allowance just like other work in Claude, and a long or complex animation consumes more of it than an ordinary message.

5

Can I download an animation as a video file?

Yes — click Export and choose MP4, and the animation downloads as a video file you can play or embed anywhere.

6

Who turns Motion on for an organization, and can it be limited?

Owners and Primary Owners control it under Organization settings > Artifacts. On Enterprise plans, owners can also restrict Motion to specific groups with custom roles.
