Why Teams Make Clips With Claude Motion
Every Claude Motion clip is an artifact built from the Motion template — animation code, not footage — and kept in the Artifacts tab.
- Code, Not FootageThe clip is animation code, so it behaves like a short video while never producing lifelike footage or human figures.
- Made From the Motion TemplateMotion template artifacts: each clip you generate is filed in the Artifacts tab, ready to reopen later.
- Beta on Team and EnterpriseTeam plans ship with it enabled; Enterprise keeps it dormant until an admin turns it on in Organization settings > Artifacts.
How to Make a Claude Motion Clip
Three routes from raw material to a finished Claude Motion clip you can export or hand to a colleague.
Claude Motion Clip Features
Surgical edits, your own source files, an MP4 download and visibility you control — the practical side of working with Motion.
Change One Detail
Edit a single word, figure or beat and the remaining scenes keep their original timing and layout.
Built From Your Material
Bring the deck, spreadsheet or pictures you want featured so every scene is drawn from your own source.
Saved in the Artifacts Tab
Your animations live in the Artifacts tab, so any clip is easy to locate and reopen later.
MP4 Download via Export
Export hands you an MP4 file ready for decks, onboarding flows or all-hands material.
Private by Default
A clip is visible only to you until you deliberately open it and use Share to hand it to others.
Owner Controls for Rollout
Admins toggle Motion in Organization settings > Artifacts; on Enterprise it can be narrowed to chosen groups through custom roles.
Claude Motion Clip — FAQ
Common questions about how Motion clips are built, who can use them and how they are shared.
Does Claude Motion create realistic footage or people?
No — Motion has no video generation model behind it. It animates text, charts, shapes and images as code, so results look designed rather than filmed.
Which plans include it, and is it on by default?
Beta covers Team and Enterprise. Team plans get it enabled out of the box; Enterprise admins must switch it on first.
How does an owner enable Claude Motion?
Admins open Organization settings > Artifacts and toggle it there; Enterprise can also narrow access through custom roles for selected groups.
Do Motion clips count toward plan usage limits?
They draw on the same allowance as other Claude work; a long or intricate animation costs more of it than a short message.
Can I fix a single number or the timing afterwards?
Yes — request a tweak in chat or make it in the editor yourself; the untouched scenes keep their original look and pacing.
How do I download or share a finished animation?
Use Export to save an MP4. Clips stay private until you open one and use Share to distribute it.
Open the Artifacts Tab and Make Your Claude Motion Clip
Pick the Motion template, describe the clip you need and export it as MP4. Team and Enterprise owners may need to enable Motion in Organization settings > Artifacts first.
